The 5th China International Cruise Shipbuilding Forum and Exhibition was successfully held on October 25-27, 2023 at the Hong Space of Shanghai Port International Cruise Terminal Shanghai North Bund, and the Shanghai International Cruise Ship Supply Exhibition was held at the same time. The exhibition was hosted by the Chinese Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, Shanghai Pudong New Area People’s Government, Shanghai Hongkou District People’s Government, and Shanghai Services Federation, and supported by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., China Merchants Industry Holdings Co., Ltd., and China Cruise Ship Design Alliance. Zheng Huiqiang, Former Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal People's Congress and President of Shanghai Services Federation; Wang Junli, Secretary General of the Chinese Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers; Zhang Jie, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce; Yang Zhao, Executive Vice Mayor of Shanghai Pudong New Area; and Chen Shuai, Vice Mayor of Shanghai Hongkou District People’s Government attended the opening ceremony and delivered the opening remarks. The theme of this year's exhibition is "Accelerate the realization of independent design, construction and supporting of cruise ships, and promote the high-quality development of the entire cruise industry chain in China". Nearly 300 people attended the opening ceremony, including senior executives from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipyard, Guangzhou Shipbuilding International, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, Xiamen Shipbuilding Heavy Industry, China Merchants Industry Zhejiang Youlian Shipyard, and Meyer Werft, as well as senior executives from cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean Cruises, Adora Cruises, CM Viking Cruises, Blue Dream Cruises, and Peace Boat, as well as representatives from industry associations, design institutes, classification societies, cruise construction supporting industry chain enterprises, and cruise ship supply enterprises. The exhibition also held a series of activities such as keynote speech, cruise ship construction session, international classification society session, cruise vessels renovation & maintenance technologies session, cruise ship design session, cruise ship supply session, cruise manufacturing supply chain session, etc.. China International Cruise Shipbuilding Forum & Exhibition has been successfully held for five sessions, and is the only professional cruise ship (passenger ship) construction forum and exhibition in Asia, building a platform for face-to-face, all-round and multi-level exchanges and cooperation for industry professionals.
